What to Check Before Signing Up to BT TV
Setup Fee
A setup fee of £61.99 applies to most BT TV deals. Factor this into your total cost when comparing — some deals waive it during promotional periods.
24-Month Lock-In
All BT TV packages run on 24-month contracts. Early exit fees apply if you leave before the end of term. Check the exit charge schedule before signing.
Annual Price Rises
BT raises prices each April. Some deals carry a price-lock until April 2027 — always check which applies to the specific deal you are comparing.
Full-Fibre Availability
BT full-fibre (FTTP) speeds require an Openreach engineer visit and are not available at every UK address. Check your postcode before comparing speed tiers.
Package Flexibility
You can switch TV packages every 30 days (except in the final 3 months of contract). Useful if you want Sport for a season but not year-round.
How to Compare BT TV Deals on Switch
Three steps from postcode to new contract
Enter Your Postcode
Switch checks Openreach availability for your specific address — including which BT full-fibre speeds (150, 300, 500, 900 Mbps) are available on your street before you compare.
Filter by Package and Speed
Sort BT TV deals by monthly cost, setup fee, total contract cost, or included content. Filter to find deals with TNT Sports, or packages with a price-lock guarantee to avoid April price rises.
Sign Up Direct with BT/EE
Click through to complete your order with BT or EE directly — no mark-up from Switch. Full-fibre installs require an Openreach engineer visit, typically booked 1–2 weeks out.
BT Broadband Speeds — What Is Available?
Fibre 2 — ~100 Mbps
FTTC (fibre-to-cabinet) technology. Suitable for 2–3 person households with routine streaming and remote working. Available at most UK addresses.
Full Fibre 150 — ~150 Mbps
FTTP (fibre-to-premises). Suits busier households needing enhanced reliability. Full fibre eliminates the copper last-mile slowdown of FTTC.
Full Fibre 300 — ~300 Mbps
The most widely chosen full-fibre option, supporting 5+ simultaneous streaming devices. Recommended for families and anyone working from home daily.
Full Fibre 500 & 900 — Up to 900 Mbps
Designed for large families, home offices, and future-focused households. Installation requires an Openreach engineer visit. Not yet available at all addresses.
BT TV Deals — Pros and Cons
Why compare BT TV deals with Switch
Up-to-date prices, honest filters, no-pressure switching — every plan we list is from a verified UK partner.
Verified prices
Every broadband tariff is sourced from a verified UK partner and refreshed daily — what you see is what you pay.
Switch in minutes
Most customers complete a switch in under ten minutes from comparison to confirmation — no phone calls required.
No hidden fees
We never charge a comparison fee. Our partners pay us a referral when you sign up — your price is the same either way.
Real choice
Compare every major UK supplier in one place — including the smaller challengers the big sites skip.
How switching works
Switching is genuinely fast — most customers go from comparison to a confirmed plan in under ten minutes.
Enter your postcode
We cross-reference Openreach and CityFibre availability so you only see packages that work at your address.
Compare deals
Filter broadband packages by speed, monthly cost, setup fee and contract length — sort by whichever matters most.
Order online
Sign up directly with the provider. Most installs happen within 2 weeks; full-fibre installs need an Openreach engineer visit.
What to look for in a broadband deal
Headline broadband prices are usually for the first year only, after which they jump 30–50%. Filter by total contract cost (not just monthly) to compare like-for-like, and watch for setup fees that some providers waive seasonally.
Full-fibre packages cost only marginally more than copper FTTC and are far more reliable — if your postcode supports it, taking the upgrade is almost always the right call.
Compare BT TV deals — questions
Is BT TV the same as EE TV?
BT rebranded its TV service as EE TV in October 2023. The hardware, channel lineup, and contract terms are all the same — only the brand name and login portal changed to EE.
