The iPhone 18 Pro Max is the largest model in Apple's 2026 pro line-up, and it is on sale now in the UK. It is also the only iPhone offered with 2TB of storage, which makes it the most expensive contract decision Apple sells, and the one where getting the total cost wrong hurts most. The table above compares live UK network and retailer contracts, sorted by what you actually pay across the full term.
The configurations you can order, and how the live deals above are put together. Prices stay in the table, where they are refreshed through the day.
Apple, the networks and the big retailers opened ordering at the same time, and live contracts are now in the table above. The Pro Max is typically the model whose popular configurations carry the longest despatch dates.
256GB, 512GB, 1TB and 2TB. The 2TB tier is exclusive to the Pro Max — the smaller iPhone 18 Pro stops at 1TB. On a contract that top tier is the single biggest swing in total cost anywhere in the iPhone range.
Burgundy, Black, Glacier and Silver. Finish and storage are ordered together, so the combination you want matters more than either choice on its own while stock is tight.
Network tariffs move through the day. Rather than write a monthly figure into a paragraph that goes stale, the table above shows each merchant's current monthly cost, upfront fee and total.
We do not write screen size, chip, camera or battery claims into this page until our editors have verified them. Apple's own product page is the authoritative source for the iPhone 18 Pro Max's technical specifications.
The deal table at the top of this page is fed by live network and retailer feeds and refreshed through the day. New iPhone 18 Pro Max tariffs appear there as merchants publish them, without anyone adding them by hand.
Storage cannot be changed after purchase, and on a contract it is not a one-off payment — it is built into every month you pay. This table is about the consequence of each tier, not about the specification.

Every iPhone 18 Pro Max price on this page is in the table above, taken from each merchant's own feed and refreshed through the day. We do not repeat figures in the copy because they change, and at this end of the range a small difference is tens of pounds a year. Check the deal is still at the listed price on the merchant's page before you order.
The Pro Max is where the gap between the headline monthly price and the real cost of a contract is widest. Six pieces of arithmetic decide whether you have found a good deal or an expensive one.
Monthly payment multiplied by the number of months, plus the upfront fee. That single number is how the table above is sorted, and it is the only way to rank two tariffs that split the cost differently. A £4-a-month saving that comes with £200 more upfront is not a saving.
Most networks sell the same handset across a ladder of upfront fees. Paying more at the start almost always lowers the total. If you can cover a larger upfront payment, compare the whole ladder rather than only the zero-upfront rung.
Longer terms make an expensive handset look affordable. They also mean a third year on a phone that will be two generations old, and a third year of annual price rises. Work out both the monthly and the total before the longer term tempts you.
Most large UK networks raise bills once a year. New contracts must state that increase in pounds and pence under Ofcom rules, so the figure is in the terms — multiply it by the years remaining and add it in. Networks that do not raise mid-contract often win on total cost even when their monthly looks higher.
Moving from 512GB to 2TB does not add a one-off sum to a contract; it adds to every payment for 24 or 36 months. Multiply the monthly difference by the term before you size up — that is the number to judge, not the few pounds shown on the tariff page.
The most expensive handset in the range is also the most expensive to replace, and network insurance is sold hard at the point of order. Check the monthly premium, check the claim excess, and check whether your home insurance or packaged bank account already covers it. Either way, put the real figure in your total.
None of the below is a commitment from Apple or any network. It is the pattern the top model follows after every launch, and it is worth knowing before you order.
On the most expensive handset in the range the gap between the two routes is at its widest, so it is worth deciding deliberately rather than by default.
A contract spreads the cost of an expensive handset
One predictable monthly payment instead of a four-figure bill on day one, which is the whole reason most Pro Max buyers take this route.
Credit on the handset is normally interest-free
UK device plans are usually interest-free, so spreading the cost does not in itself mean paying more for the handset.
Trade-in credit is easy to apply at the point of order
Networks and retailers take your old handset against the upfront cost in the same checkout, which is simpler than selling privately.
Bundled extras are concentrated at the top of the range
Where networks offer subscriptions, accessories or early-upgrade rights, the flagship tariffs are where they show up first.
You are tied in for 24 or 36 months
Leaving early means settling the remaining device payments, and the longer the term the larger that figure.
Annual in-contract price rises usually apply
Buying SIM-free and pairing a rolling SIM-only plan keeps you out of that mechanism entirely.
You cannot sell the handset mid-term
On a contract the handset is not yours to sell until the device plan is settled. Outright ownership is the only route that keeps that option open.
The bill does not always drop once the handset is paid off
On bundled contracts it often carries on at the same rate. Split device-plan contracts are clearer about this — check which one you are signing.

These are the two choices that cannot be changed without cancelling and reordering.
Work out the most you are willing to pay across the whole term, then shop to that.
Trade-in values are at their best around launch and drop through the autumn.
The airtime half of the deal is where most of the avoidable cost sits.
Live iPhone 18 Pro Max contracts from the networks and retailers we carry, refreshed through the day, with the upfront fee shown alongside the monthly payment rather than buried in the terms.
Filters for network, data allowance, upfront cost and contract length, and sorting by total contract cost so the cheapest deal across the full term comes first, not the one with the lowest headline monthly figure.
Deals are listed as merchants publish them. Confirm the final price and despatch date on the merchant's page before you order, because tariffs can change between feed refreshes.
