BT Full Fibre 900 £33.99 and up to £300 leaving fees (invitation-only)

As of 24 October 2026, BT Full Fibre 900 costs £33.99 a month on bt.com (checked 24 October), rising to £37.99 from 31 March 2027, £0 activation on BT’s own deals page; our button opens BT’s Full Fibre 150 offer at £23.99. It then rises to £41.99 from 31 March 2028. Separately, BT may cover up to £200 of your old provider’s broadband leaving fees (up to £300 if you move broadband and TV together), but only if your order comes with a Switching Credit invitation. This guide explains what that means in pounds, who qualifies for the leaving-fee credit, and how to claim it without losing it on a technicality. The deal in numbers (checked 24 October 2026)

What it costs over the contract. If you start in October 2026, you pay roughly six months at £33.99, twelve months at £37.99 and six months at £41.99. That comes to about £912 over 24 months before any reward card, and a card would bring your net cost down by its value. In the first twelve months alone you pay about £432 (six months at £33.99 plus six at £37.99). Your exact figure depends on your start date, so check the price dates on your order summary.

How the BT leaving-fee credit actually works

BT calls this its Switching Credit, and the most important word in the small print is invitation. BT’s help page says the offer is for new customers who have been invited to it when ordering any BT broadband, or broadband and TV, package. That includes Full Fibre 900. If your order journey or welcome email does not mention Switching Credit, assume you will not get it and judge the deal on the monthly price and any reward card alone.

When you do qualify, BT pays you back the early termination charges from your old provider as a credit on your BT bill. It is not cash in your bank, and it only covers early termination charges. Extra data charges, call charges and mobile broadband exit fees are not included. The caps on BT’s eligibility table are:

• Broadband only to broadband only: up to £200.

• Broadband and TV to broadband and TV: up to £300.

• Some TV-only moves are not eligible at all, so check the table on BT’s help page if your old package was mostly TV.

So the “up to £300” headline is real, but it belongs to households moving both broadband and TV. If you are switching broadband on its own, £200 is the most you can get back.

How to claim, step by step

1. Before you order, ask your current provider for your exact exit fee and screenshot it.

2. Order BT Full Fibre 900 and look for Switching Credit wording in the order journey or confirmation email. Screenshot that too.

3. Let the switch go through. BT’s help page says claims are processed from 14 days after activation, once the cooling-off period has passed.

4. Pay your old provider’s final bill, then email it to bt-switchteam@bt.com within four months of your BT activation. Put your BT order number in the subject line.

5. Make sure the bill shows your address (it must match your BT account) and a clear breakdown of the early termination charge.

6. BT says a valid claim is credited to your BT bill within 28 days. Put a reminder in your calendar to check.

Claims that fail. You will not get the credit if you cancel within 14 days of activation, miss the four-month deadline, work for BT Group, or are leaving BT, EE, Plusnet or a business broadband contract. Those are the most common reasons people miss out, and all of them are avoidable.

Is Full Fibre 900 the right BT speed for you?

BT’s whole full fibre range shares the same £0 activation, and BT often adds reward cards across the range, so it is worth checking whether a cheaper tier does the job. These are BT’s prices on bt.com when we checked on 24 October 2026, with 24-month totals before any reward card:

The gap between Full Fibre 500 and 900 is only about £24 over two years at bt.com’s 24 October prices, before any reward card. That is worth paying if several people in your home upload big files, game online, stream in 4K and take video calls at the same time, or if you work from home and send large files every day. If it is one or two people streaming and browsing, Full Fibre 300 or 500 will feel the same in daily use for less money.

Who should pick it, and who should not

It suits you if BT’s postcode checker shows Full Fibre 900 at your address, your household uses a lot of bandwidth at once, you are fine with a 24-month contract and its two planned rises, and you are either out of contract or have a Switching Credit invitation that covers your exit fee.

Look elsewhere if you only need a basic connection, you want a 12-month or rolling contract, your exit fee is from BT, EE or Plusnet, or a local full fibre provider is cheaper at your address. Prices from smaller networks vary a lot by postcode, so it is worth running a couple of checkers before you commit. You can see other options on our broadband deals page.

Switching without paying twice

1. Check your current exit fee and contract end date.

2. Run BT’s postcode checker and confirm which full fibre speeds you can get.

3. Check the £33.99 price, the March 2027 and March 2028 prices and the reward card on your order summary.

4. Let BT handle the switch through One Touch Switch rather than cancelling your old provider yourself, so you are not left without broadband or paying two bills.

5. Book a weekday install slot if an engineer needs to fit a fibre socket, and keep the old router until the new line is working.

6. Claim the reward card when BT emails you, and send your leaving-fee claim within four months if you were invited.

7. Set a reminder for month 22 so you can re-shop before the out-of-contract price starts (BT says it goes up by no more than £5 a month).

Things to be careful about

• The reward card is not instant. BT sends claim details after activation, and you need to follow them within its deadline.

• Average speeds are measured at the router. Wifi in far rooms may be slower, so place the router centrally.

• The leaving-fee credit only arrives if you were invited and claim correctly. Do not give notice expecting it unless your order shows it.

• Planned rises are part of the contract, so £33.99 is your starting price, not your price for two years.
