Is Trooli broadband any good? If it reaches your street, yes: it is a full fibre provider with matching upload and download speeds, no price rise during the contract and a 4.6 rating from 7,186 Trustpilot reviews. As listed on 1 November 2026, Uswitch shows Trooli from £22.99 a month for 150Mbps on a 24-month contract with no setup cost, while Trooli’s own price guide puts the standard price at £24.99. The catch is coverage, because Trooli builds its own network, mainly in towns and villages in the South and South East of England. This SwitchSquid review covers prices, the network, ownership, known issues and how Trooli compares with BT, plus what to choose if it cannot connect you. SwitchSquid does not have a partner arrangement with Trooli, so the buttons on this page go to national alternatives; if you buy through them, we may earn a commission, and it does not change the price you pay.

Trooli not at your address? BT Full Fibre 150 for £25.99 a month
- £25.99 a month on a 24-month contract, then £29.99 from March 2027 and £33.99 from March 2028, as listed on 1 November 2026
- £0 activation and up to £300 towards your leaving fees as bill credit
- Main limitation: the price rises each March, unlike Trooli
Trooli broadband review: the short verdict
What it is: an independent full fibre network and provider that runs its own cables to your door rather than renting Openreach lines.
Price: from £22.99 to £44.99 a month on 24-month contracts on Uswitch, as listed on 1 November 2026, for 150Mbps up to 5Gbps.
Price promise: no mid-contract price rise for new customers on the first contract.
Speeds: uploads match downloads, which helps with video calls, cloud backups and gaming.
Customer rating: 4.6 on Trustpilot from 7,186 reviews.
Main drawback: limited availability, so most UK homes cannot get it.
Trooli broadband prices compared
Trooli shows deal prices only once you enter a postcode, so the deal column uses Uswitch’s Trooli listing and the standard column uses Trooli’s own price guide, both as listed on 1 November 2026. BT and Virgin Media are the national alternatives linked on this page.
Package | Speed | Deal price (Uswitch) | Trooli standard price | Contract | Price rises in contract | 24-month cost at deal price |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Trooli Essential | 150Mbps, matching upload | £22.99 | £24.99 | 24 months | None | £551.76 |
Trooli Extra | 500Mbps, matching upload | £27.99 | £29.99 | 24 months | None | £671.76 |
Trooli Superior | 900Mbps, matching upload | £29.99 | £34.99 | 24 months | None | £719.76 |
Trooli Pro | 2Gbps, matching upload | £39.99 | £39.99 | 24 months | None | £959.76 |
Trooli Ultra | 5Gbps, matching upload | £44.99 | £44.99 | 24 months | None | £1,079.76 |
BT Full Fibre 150 | 150Mb package | £25.99 | n/a | 24 months | £29.99 from March 2027, £33.99 from March 2028 | £735.76 if you start in November 2026 |
The 24-month costs assume the price stays as listed and, for BT, that the first bill falls in November 2026. Trooli’s price guide adds that out-of-contract prices are the standard price plus £5 a month, so set a reminder before month 24. Virgin Media prices appear once you enter a postcode.
Which network does Trooli use?
Trooli uses its own network. It lays fibre all the way to each home and maintains it with its own engineers, so it does not depend on Openreach or Virgin Media. Trooli’s homepage highlights synchronous download and upload speeds and customer support seven days a week, and its price guide confirms that every home package is fibre to the premises.
Because Trooli runs a separate network, it fits its own connection rather than reusing an Openreach box. Trooli’s offer terms say it aims to finish installations within four to six weeks of the order, that standard installation and activation are free, and that a home needing extra work to bring the cable in may face an installation fee, which you are told about before going ahead. Our full fibre installation guide explains what usually happens on the day.

Where is Trooli available?
According to ISPreview in September 2026, Trooli’s network covers about 480,000 premises in towns and large semi-rural villages across parts of:
England: Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Cambridgeshire, Dorset, East Sussex, Hampshire, Kent, Norfolk, Suffolk, West Sussex and Wiltshire.
Scotland: parts of North Lanarkshire, South Lanarkshire and Fife.
Trooli builds street by street, so a neighbouring road can have it when yours does not. The only reliable test is the postcode checker on Trooli’s site, and if you are not covered yet, you can register your interest there.
Who owns Trooli broadband?
Companies House lists Agnar UK Infrastructure Ltd as the person with significant control of Trooli Ltd, holding 75% or more of the shares and voting rights. Trooli’s offer terms also name Hermod Ltd as a related company, and ISPreview reported in June 2024 that customer contracts moved to a retail company in the same group trading as Trooli. Either way, you deal with the Trooli brand.
Is Trooli better than BT?
Where both are available, Trooli usually wins on total cost and upload speed, and BT wins on reach:
Price over the contract: Trooli Essential at £22.99 a month costs £551.76 over 24 months. BT Full Fibre 150 is £25.99 a month, then £29.99 from March 2027 and £33.99 from March 2028, as listed on 1 November 2026. Starting in November 2026, that is £735.76, about £184 more.
Uploads: Trooli’s speeds are symmetrical, so a 150Mbps package uploads at 150Mbps too.
Switching help: BT’s offer page includes £0 activation and up to £300 towards leaving fees as bill credit. Trooli’s contract buyout pays up to £100 on Essential, £125 on Extra, £150 on Superior and £200 on Pro or Ultra, against your old provider’s final bill.
Reach: BT sells full fibre across the much larger Openreach network, so it is the fallback when Trooli cannot connect you.

What are the issues with Trooli broadband?
Trooli’s Trustpilot score is high, at 4.6 from 7,186 reviews as listed on 1 November 2026, and Trustpilot’s summary of recent reviews praises helpful staff and tidy installations. The points worth knowing before you sign are about terms and setup rather than speed:
Re-contracting: Trooli’s price guide says an existing customer signing a new 24-month agreement may see a £2 monthly increase in months 13 to 24. New customers keep the same price for the full first term.
Out of contract: after 24 months you move to a rolling contract at the standard price plus £5 a month unless you sign again.
Installation: some homes need extra work to bring the cable in, and Trooli may charge for that after a survey. You can cancel without charge if you do not want to pay it.
Outages: Trooli publishes a Live Network Status page, linked from its homepage, so check it before calling support.
In a Virgin Media area? Gig1 with the WiFi guarantee included
- Gig1 averages 1,130Mbps downloads and 104Mbps uploads, as listed on 1 November 2026
- WiFi guarantee included with Gig1: at least 30Mbps in every room or £100 credit
- Main limitation: prices appear once you enter your postcode, and uploads are slower than Trooli’s
Trooli extras and setup
Router: every order includes a modem and router with free delivery, according to Trooli’s price guide. ISPreview reports that the 5Gbps Ultra package comes with a Wi-Fi 7 router.
Wi-Fi Plus: extra Wi-Fi units cost £8 a month each, as listed on Trooli’s homepage on 1 November 2026.
Trooli Protect: online security powered by F-Secure for £3 a month.
Switching: Trooli uses One Touch Switch, so it cancels your old service for you. Our One Touch Switch guide explains the process.
Cooling-off: you can cancel within 14 days of ordering without charge.
Refer a friend: the person referring gets £30 of credit and the new customer gets £15 once their service is live.

If Trooli is not at your address
Most UK homes are outside Trooli’s network. The national alternatives linked on this page are:

Other independent networks may cover your area instead. Our reviews of Brsk, YouFibre, Gigaclear and Zen cover the main ones.
