Next update: when Chattr changes its Freedom One price or loyalty discounts, or when its October code is replaced.
By: Switch Editorial Team, Switch Squid Ltd
As of 22 October 2026, Chattr sells one SIM only plan, Freedom One: unlimited data, calls and texts on the O2 network for £15 a month on a one-month rolling term, with no credit check. The price drops to £14 from month 6 and £13 from month 12, and new customers ordering in October 2026 can use code OCT75 to pay £3.75 for the first month. The catch is support: Chattr is online-only and lists an email address rather than a phone line. This SwitchSquid review covers the price, the network, roaming, the real downsides and how Chattr compares with Lebara and 1pMobile. We may earn a commission if you buy through links on this page; it doesn’t change the price you pay.

Main limitation: no phone support, only email and a web form
Chattr at a glance: the facts that matter
Chattr is a small UK mobile brand run by Kashcow Ltd, which trades as Chattr from Chapel Street in Salford. It doesn’t own any masts. Like giffgaff and Tesco Mobile, it buys access to another operator’s network and sells its own plans on top. In Chattr’s case that operator is O2, so the signal you get on a Chattr SIM is O2’s signal.
The range is deliberately short. When we checked on 22 October 2026, Chattr’s plan list showed a single plan:
Plan: Freedom One.
Allowance: unlimited UK data, unlimited UK minutes and unlimited UK texts.
Price: £15 a month for months 1 to 5, £14 a month for months 6 to 11 and £13 a month from month 12 onwards.
Term: one month, rolling. You can cancel when you want, with no exit fee.
Network: O2, with 4G and 5G. Chattr quotes 99% UK coverage.
Roaming: EU roaming in 43 countries is included.
Credit check: none. Chattr says everyone is accepted.
SIM type: physical SIM by post, or eSIM sent by email.
Price rises: Chattr says there are no annual price hikes.
That last point is worth a moment. Most big networks now add a fixed amount in pounds and pence every April. Chattr goes the other way, and the loyalty steps mean the monthly bill gets smaller the longer you stay, not bigger.
What you will actually pay in your first year
Headline prices don’t tell you much on their own, so here is the sum. Without a code, twelve months on Freedom One costs £75 for months 1 to 5, £84 for months 6 to 11 and £13 for month 12. That is £172 for the first year, or an average of about £14.33 a month.
With code OCT75, the first month falls from £15 to £3.75, so the first year comes to £160.75. Chattr describes OCT75 as an October offer for new customers, and it applies to the first month only. If the code doesn’t take at checkout, you are back to the standard £15, which is still a fair price for unlimited data.
From year two, every month is £13, so a second year costs £156. Very few unlimited SIMs on a major UK network get cheaper over time, which is the main reason Chattr deserves a look.
Which network does Chattr use? O2, and that decides most things
Chattr’s own site says its plans run on the O2 network and include O2 Priority benefits. Some older reviews have suggested a different host network, but the plan data Chattr publishes today lists O2, and that is the network shown in its plan description. We went with what Chattr states now.
Because the SIM uses O2’s masts, your signal at home, at work and on your commute will match what an O2 customer gets in the same spot. That cuts both ways. If O2 is strong where you live, Chattr gives you that coverage for less than O2 charges for unlimited data. If O2 is patchy on your street, a cheaper price won’t fix it.
Before you order, put your postcode into a coverage checker. Our O2 coverage checker guide explains how to read the O2 map and Ofcom’s independent checker, including the difference between outdoor and indoor signal.

Chattr vs Lebara vs 1pMobile: how the cheap rolling SIMs compare
Chattr isn’t the only no-contract SIM without a credit check. Lebara and 1pMobile are the two we see most often in the same searches, and they run on different networks, which matters as much as the price. All three were checked on 22 October 2026.
Plan | Price | Data | Contract | Upfront | Code | Network | Best for | Where to get it |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Chattr Freedom One | £15 a month, £14 from month 6, £13 from month 12 | Unlimited | 1-month rolling | £15 first month, or £3.75 with the code | OCT75 (October 2026, new customers) | O2 | Heavy data users on O2 who want no credit check | Use the Chattr buttons on this page |
Lebara 30GB | £8 every 30 days | 30GB | 30-day rolling | £8 | None needed | Vodafone | Lowest cost if 30GB is enough | Lebara’s website |
1pMobile 50GB | £15 every 30 days | 50GB | 30-day rolling | £15 | None | EE | People who want EE coverage and phone support | 1pMobile’s website |
1pMobile Unlimited | £25 every 30 days | Unlimited (fair use above 500GB) | 30-day rolling | £25 | None | EE | Unlimited data where EE is stronger than O2 | 1pMobile’s website |
Sources: Chattr’s plan page; Lebara and 1pMobile websites, all checked on 22 October 2026. Lebara and 1pMobile bill every 30 days, so you pay 12 or 13 times a year rather than 12.
How to read it. If you genuinely need unlimited data, Chattr is the cheapest of the three by a clear margin: £172 for the first year against roughly £300 or more for 1pMobile Unlimited. If you use less than 30GB a month, Lebara at £8 is cheaper again, although you swap O2 for Vodafone’s network. 1pMobile costs more but gives you EE’s network, telephone support and a long record of customer reviews.

Choose Chattr Freedom One on a 1-month rolling plan
Code OCT75: first month £3.75, then £15 a month. New customers, October 2026 only
No credit check, eSIM or physical SIM, and EU roaming in 43 countries
Cancel any month; keep your number with a free PAC code
Roaming, eSIM and the extras
EU roaming. Chattr includes roaming in 43 countries on Freedom One. That is a real saving next to networks that charge a daily fee in Europe. Chattr doesn’t publish a separate roaming data cap on its plan page, so read the terms in your account before a long trip. Our EU roaming SIM deals guide compares the rules across networks.
eSIM. You can choose a physical SIM, which arrives by post, or an eSIM. Chattr says eSIM instructions are sent by email straight after your order, followed by a QR code to install it once your line is ready. If you have a recent iPhone or Android phone, the eSIM route is the quickest way to get going.
Keeping your number. You can bring your number with a PAC code from your current network. Text PAC to 65075 from your old phone and you will get the code by text. Chattr warns that a number transfer takes a little longer than activating a new number.
5G. Chattr advertises unlimited 5G data. You will need a 5G phone and O2 5G at your location to use it.
Customer support: the honest bit
This is where Chattr is weakest, and it is better to know now than after you have moved your number across.
No phone line is listed. Chattr’s contact page gives an email address, support@chattr.co.uk, and a contact form. Chattr says it operates entirely online and that you will deal with real people rather than salespeople.
Very few independent reviews. When we looked on 22 October 2026, Chattr’s Trustpilot page showed only four reviews, all from May 2024. They were positive about delivery and switching, but four reviews are not enough to judge how problems get handled.
Watch out for name confusion. Many of the complaint threads that turn up in searches are about Chatr, a Canadian mobile brand with a similar name, or about US companies using the Chattr name. Check the spelling and the country before you let them put you off.
It is a small operator. Small brands can be quick and friendly, but they rarely have the staff numbers of a big network if something goes wrong at busy times.
Our view: if you are comfortable sorting things out by email and you rarely need to call a network, Chattr’s support model is fine. If you want to be able to pick up the phone, 1pMobile’s UK telephone support is the safer choice, even though it costs more.

How to switch to Chattr, step by step
Check O2 coverage. Look up your home and work postcodes before ordering.
Get your PAC code. Text PAC to 65075 from your current phone if you want to keep your number. It is valid for 30 days.
Choose SIM or eSIM. Pick a physical SIM if your phone is older, or eSIM for the fastest start.
Order Freedom One and add the code. Enter OCT75 in the promo box at checkout if you are a new customer ordering in October 2026.
Activate. Chattr activates the SIM using the last four digits of its serial number, then lets you know when your number is ready.
Cancel your old plan if needed. Giving your PAC to Chattr ends your old contract when the number moves. Any early exit fees from your old network still apply.
If you are not sure whether unlimited data is worth it for you, ask Squid AI, SwitchSquid’s AI deal assistant, to compare a few plans against your usage.
Who Chattr suits and who should look elsewhere
Chattr works best for people who use a lot of data and want a simple, flexible plan. Think students on campus Wi-Fi that drops out, people who use their phone as a hotspot for a laptop, and anyone who has been turned down for a contract because of their credit history. The falling price also rewards people who tend to stay put once they find something that works.
It is less suitable if you live somewhere O2 is weak, if you want a big-network shop to walk into, or if you need telephone support. Light users are also better off with a cheaper capped plan. Our no credit check SIM deals guide lists cheaper options with smaller allowances.
Fit summary
Good fit: you want unlimited data on O2, no credit check and a monthly price that falls over time.
Good fit: you want to leave any month without an exit fee.
Consider Lebara: you only need 30GB and want the lowest bill.
Consider 1pMobile: EE is stronger than O2 where you live, or you want phone support.

FAQ
Is Chattr a good SIM only network?
Chattr is good value if you want unlimited data on O2 with no contract and no credit check. Freedom One costs £15 a month and falls to £13 a month from month 12. Its weak spot is support, which is online and by email only.
What network does Chattr use?
Chattr uses the O2 network, according to its own website on 22 October 2026. Your coverage and 5G availability will match O2’s in the same location. Check the O2 coverage map for your postcode before you order.
How much is Chattr unlimited data?
Chattr’s Freedom One plan is £15 a month for months 1 to 5, £14 for months 6 to 11 and £13 from month 12. It includes unlimited data, calls and texts on a one-month rolling term. The first year costs £172 without a code.
How do I use the Chattr code OCT75?
Choose Freedom One, then type OCT75 into the promo code box at checkout before you pay. It takes 75% off the first month, so you pay £3.75. Chattr describes it as an October 2026 offer for new customers.
Does Chattr do a credit check?
No. Chattr says it doesn’t run credit checks and that everyone is accepted. You pay each month in advance, so there is no borrowing involved.
Can I keep my number when I switch to Chattr?
Yes. Text PAC to 65075 from your current phone to get a PAC code, then give it to Chattr when you order. The transfer can take a little longer than activating a new number.
How do I contact Chattr customer service?
Chattr lists an email address, support@chattr.co.uk, and a contact form on its website. It doesn’t list a phone number. If phone support matters to you, consider a network such as 1pMobile that offers it.
