Next update: when iD Mobile changes its SIM only prices or roaming list, or when its Trustpilot score moves.

As of 21 October 2026, iD Mobile is a good-value SIM only network for most people who get a decent Three signal: 12-month plans run from £8 a month for 50GB to £14 for 200GB, with no annual price rises, free data rollover and roaming in 50 destinations. It holds a TrustScore of 4.2 out of 5 from 72,117 Trustpilot reviews. The catch is coverage, because iD runs on Three’s network, and patchy signal is the most common complaint in its reviews. This SwitchSquid review covers what customers say, prices, coverage and how iD compares with Smarty and giffgaff. We may earn a commission if you buy through links on this page; it doesn’t change the price you pay.

Is iD Mobile any good? The short answer
For most people, yes. iD Mobile is cheap, flexible and has more features as standard than many budget networks. Whether it is good for you comes down to one thing: how well Three’s network works where you live, work and travel.
Price: SIM only plans start at £6 a month, and 12-month plans give 50GB for £8 or 200GB for £14 when we checked on 21 October 2026.
Price promise: iD says its SIM only plans aren’t subject to annual CPI or RPI price rises.
Extras: unused data rolls over once into the next month, you can cap your bill, and roaming is included in 50 destinations.
Network: iD uses Three’s masts. iD says that gives 99% UK population 4G coverage, but signal varies street by street.
Owner: iD Mobile is a trading name of Currys Group Limited.
What do iD Mobile customers say in their reviews?
On 21 October 2026, iD Mobile had a TrustScore of 4.2 out of 5 on Trustpilot from 72,117 reviews, with 20,486 posted in the last 12 months. Of all its reviews, 63% were five stars and 17% were one star.
The positive reviews repeat the same points: good value for money, easy setup, data rollover and roaming in Europe included. Several long-standing customers say they moved from bigger networks and haven’t looked back.
The negative reviews cluster around two problems. The first is signal, with some customers describing patchy coverage in rural areas and places where Three is weaker. The second is customer service, especially live chat, where some reviewers describe long waits to sort out eSIM transfers, number moves or cancellations.
Our read: iD is a strong choice if Three works for you. If you live somewhere Three struggles, a cheap price won’t make up for dropped calls, so check coverage before you buy. Our UK network coverage comparison explains how the four networks differ.

How much does iD Mobile cost?
iD sells 1-month rolling, 12-month and 24-month SIM only plans, all with unlimited minutes and texts. On 21 October 2026, its SIM only page listed rolling plans from £6 a month for 15GB, and longer plans including 50GB for £8, 100GB for £10, 150GB for £12, 200GB for £14 and unlimited data from £17 a month.
Rolling plans cost a little more per gigabyte, but you can leave or change plan with 30 days’ notice. A 12-month plan suits you if you are happy to commit for a lower price. Pay monthly SIMs need a credit check, which iD says it asks permission for first.

Is iD Mobile on the Three network?
Yes. iD Mobile is a virtual network that uses Three’s masts, so its coverage is the same as Three’s. iD says Three gives 99% UK population 4G coverage, and 5G is included on every SIM only plan at no extra cost, as long as your phone supports it and you are in a 5G area.
Population coverage doesn’t mean every room in every building. Check your postcode on iD’s coverage checker, and think about the places you use your phone most. If you are deciding between Three and O2 networks, our O2 coverage checker guide shows how to compare signal before you switch.
iD Mobile roaming: what is included?
iD includes roaming in 50 destinations as standard, which it says is more than any other UK network. You can use your UK minutes, texts and data there, with a 30GB data limit under its fair use policy.
That makes iD a good fit if you travel to the EU and some long-haul destinations. If you are going somewhere outside iD’s list, check its roaming page before you go, because standard charges can add up quickly. Our EU roaming SIM deals guide compares the networks that include European roaming.

How to switch to iD Mobile and keep your number
Check coverage. Use iD’s coverage checker for your home and work postcodes.
Get your PAC. Text PAC to 65075 from your current phone. Your network replies with the code and any charges for leaving early.
Order your SIM or eSIM. Choose your plan and add the PAC during checkout or later in your account.
Wait for the move. iD says it moves your number the next working day if it gets your PAC before 5:30pm, Monday to Friday.
Insert the SIM. Your old contract ends automatically when the number moves.
Ofcom says your old network can’t charge you for any notice period after the switch date if you are out of contract. iD gives you 30 days from receiving your SIM to cancel if you change your mind. FAQ
Is iD Mobile a good network?
iD Mobile scores 4.2 out of 5 on Trustpilot from more than 72,000 reviews, and customers praise its value and features. It runs on Three’s network, so it is only as good as Three’s signal where you are. Check coverage for your postcode before you switch.
Who owns iD Mobile?
iD Mobile is a trading name of Currys Group Limited, the electricals retailer. It sells plans on Three’s network rather than running its own masts. Its registered address is the Currys campus in Newark.
Does iD Mobile have annual price rises?
iD says its SIM only plans aren’t subject to annual CPI or RPI price increases. That means the monthly price you sign up for stays the same for the plan length. Full terms apply, so read them at checkout.
Is iD Mobile cheaper than Smarty?
For big data on a 12-month plan, iD is usually cheaper, with 50GB for £8 a month or 200GB for £14. Smarty’s strengths are rolling plans with no credit check, such as 100GB for £12 a month. Both use Three’s network, so coverage is the same.
Can I use iD Mobile abroad?
Yes. Roaming is included in 50 destinations, with a 30GB data limit under iD’s fair use policy. Outside those destinations, other charges apply, so check iD’s roaming page before you travel.
How long does it take to switch to iD Mobile?
iD says it moves your number the next working day if it receives your PAC before 5:30pm, Monday to Friday. Physical SIMs arrive by Royal Mail, usually within two to three working days. An eSIM QR code is sent by email once your order is processed.
