What is the best phone deal with a free gift? As of 1 November 2026, the strongest value is the Google Pixel 10a on iD Mobile through Mobiles.co.uk: unlimited data for £14.99 a month and £59 upfront, a total of £465.56 on the retailer’s own figures, and you can claim Google Pixel Buds 2a worth £129, which brings the real cost down to about £336.56 over 24 months. The catch is that the earbuds are a claim offer: Google’s promotion terms cover Pixel 10a purchases made by 23:59 on 3 November 2026, and you register for the earbuds at least 14 days after buying, by 18 December 2026, rather than finding them in the box. This SwitchSquid guide compares three phones that carry a gift, shows what each gift really saves once you set it against the same plan without one, and explains how to avoid the traps that stop people getting their freebie. If you buy through the buttons on this page, we may earn a commission; it does not change the price you pay.

Pixel 10a with unlimited data for £14.99 a month, plus Pixel Buds 2a to claim
- £14.99 a month on iD Mobile for 24 months with £59 upfront, £465.56 in total, when checked on 1 November 2026
- No code needed: claim Google Pixel Buds 2a worth £129 on Pixel 10a orders made by 23:59 on 3 November 2026
- Main limitation: the monthly price rises by £1.80 each April, and the gift has its own claim terms
How free gift phone deals work
A free gift deal bundles something extra with a phone contract: earbuds, a smartwatch, a gift card or a tablet. Retailers use them to make one phone stand out, especially in the run-up to Black Friday. There are two kinds, and the difference matters.
Included gifts are part of the order. Mobiles.co.uk labels these deals “Includes” followed by the product, for example “Includes Samsung Galaxy Buds3 Pro”, and the gift comes with your order.
Claim gifts are redeemed after you buy. Mobiles.co.uk shows these as “Claim Google Pixel Buds 2a worth £129”. You usually register the purchase on a claim site once the phone has arrived and the contract is active, then the gift is posted to you.
Neither type is free money. A deal that includes a gift can carry a higher upfront cost or monthly price than the same plan without it. The only fair test is to compare the total cost of the gift deal with the total cost of a matching plan without the gift, then decide whether the difference is worth less than the gift is to you.
Phone deals with free gifts compared
All three phones below are on iD Mobile 24-month contracts sold by Mobiles.co.uk, with unlimited minutes and texts. The total cost is the “total cost of ownership” Mobiles.co.uk publishes beside each deal. Prices were checked on 1 November 2026.
Phone and plan | Gift | Monthly, then April rises | Upfront | Total cost (retailer) | Total minus gift value | Code | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Google Pixel 10a, unlimited data | Claim Pixel Buds 2a (worth £129) | £14.99, £16.79 from April 2027, £18.59 from April 2028 | £59 | £465.56 | £336.56 | None needed | Lowest real cost with a gift |
Google Pixel 10a, 500GB | Claim Pixel Buds 2a (worth £129) | £14.99, £16.79 from April 2027, £18.59 from April 2028 | £19 | £425.56 | £296.56 | None needed | Cheapest total if 500GB is enough |
Samsung Galaxy S26 FE, 500GB | Includes Galaxy Buds3 Pro | £25.99, £27.79 from April 2027, £29.59 from April 2028 | £69 | £735.96 | No value stated | None needed | Samsung fans who want earbuds in the order |
Google Pixel 11 Pro, 500GB | Includes Pixel Buds 2a | £29.99, £31.79 from April 2027, £33.59 from April 2028 | £109 | £875.56 | £746.56 | None needed | A flagship camera with a gift |
Google Pixel 11 Pro, 500GB | Includes Pixel Watch 4 (41mm) | £29.99, £31.79 from April 2027, £33.59 from April 2028 | £159 | £925.56 | No value stated | None needed | Anyone who wanted a smartwatch anyway |
A gift value is only subtracted where Mobiles.co.uk states one. The Pixel Buds 2a are listed as “worth £129” on the Pixel 10a page, so the same figure is used for the Pixel 11 Pro deal. Mobiles.co.uk does not put a value on the Galaxy Buds3 Pro or the Pixel Watch 4, so those rows show the full cost.

What each gift is really worth
The table above shows the headline sums. The more useful number is how much extra you pay for the gift version compared with a similar plan without one, because that is the true price of the freebie.
Pixel 10a with Pixel Buds 2a: the claim offer is shown on the standard deals, so the gift adds nothing to the price. If you would use the earbuds, you are £129 better off on the retailer’s valuation.
Galaxy S26 FE with Galaxy Buds3 Pro: the 500GB plan without earbuds costs £25.99 a month with £25 upfront, a total of £691.96. The version that includes the Buds3 Pro costs £735.96, so the earbuds cost you £44 over two years. That is a small price for a pair of premium earbuds, but only if you want them.
Pixel 11 Pro with Pixel Buds 2a: the 500GB plan without a gift is £29.99 a month with £75 upfront, a total of £841.56. The Pixel Buds 2a version is £875.56, so the earbuds cost £34 more, against a stated value of £129.
Pixel 11 Pro with Pixel Watch 4: £925.56 in total, which is £84 more than the plan without a gift. Worth it if you were planning to buy a smartwatch; poor value if it would stay in its box.
A gift is only a saving if you would have bought it anyway, or if you can sell it. Unopened earbuds and watches resell for less than their list price, so if you plan to sell, knock a fair amount off before you count the saving.
The best free gift deal for most people
For most buyers, the Google Pixel 10a deal is the one to beat. The phone has a 6.3-inch AMOLED display, a 5,100mAh battery and Google’s Gemini assistant, according to Mobiles.co.uk, and at £14.99 a month it undercuts the other gift deals here by more than £10 a month. Because the Pixel Buds 2a are a claim offer on the normal deals rather than a pricier bundle, you are not paying extra for them.
If 500GB of data is plenty for you, the 500GB plan with £19 upfront costs £425.56 in total before the gift, £40 less than unlimited. Only the 25GB plan with £9 upfront, at £415.56, costs less. Our Pixel 10a gift offer guide and the Google Pixel 10a deals page have more plans.
Galaxy S26 FE that includes Galaxy Buds3 Pro, 500GB for £25.99
- 500GB for £25.99 a month with £69 upfront on iD Mobile, £735.96 in total, when checked on 1 November 2026
- No code needed: pick the deal marked as including Samsung Galaxy Buds3 Pro
- Main limitation: the first deal shown on the page does not include the earbuds, so pick one marked “Includes Samsung Galaxy Buds3 Pro” before you order
Is the Samsung Galaxy S26 FE with Galaxy Buds3 Pro worth it?
The Galaxy S26 FE is the Fan Edition of Samsung’s S26 range. Mobiles.co.uk lists a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, an Exynos 2500 processor, a 4,900mAh battery and a 50MP triple camera with 3x optical zoom. The gift deals are part of iD Mobile’s Black Friday range, which gives 500GB of data on plans that were 100GB, so you get the earbuds and five times the data for the same £25.99 a month.
The trade-off is the upfront cost. The earbud version asks £69 upfront against £25 for the same data and monthly price without them. If you would rather keep the upfront cost low, there is also a 100GB plan with the Buds3 Pro at £27.99 a month and £29 upfront, a total of £743.96. Our iD Mobile Black Friday deals guide covers the 5x data offers in more detail.
The premium option: Google Pixel 11 Pro with a gift
If you want a flagship, the Pixel 11 Pro deals give you a choice of three gifts on the same 500GB plan at £29.99 a month: Pixel Buds 2a for £109 upfront, or Pixel Buds Pro 2 or a Pixel Watch 4 (41mm) for £159 upfront. All of them rise to £31.79 a month from April 2027 and £33.59 from April 2028. The Pixel Buds 2a version is the best value, because the gift costs only £34 more than the plan without it. See the Google Pixel 11 Pro deals page for other tariffs.

How to claim your free gift, and the traps to avoid
Choose the right deal on the page. When you land on a phone page, the first deal shown is not always the gift deal. Look for the “Includes” or “Claim” line beside the plan before you press Buy Now.
Read the claim terms before you order. Claim offers have their own rules, such as a window in which you must register and a requirement to keep the contract active. Check the offer terms on the retailer’s site first.
Keep your paperwork. Save your order confirmation and the date the phone arrived. You will usually need the order number and sometimes the phone’s IMEI to claim.
Think twice before cancelling in the cooling-off period if you want the gift. Returning the phone is likely to cancel the gift as well, so check the offer terms.
Budget for the April rises. iD Mobile shows its rises in pounds: on these deals, £1.80 a month from April 2027 and another £1.80 from April 2028. They are already included in the retailer’s total cost.
Keep your number. Text PAC to 65075 on your current network to get a code; our guide to getting a PAC code explains the steps.
Be wary of gift offers that arrive by unsolicited text or social media message. Genuine offers are shown on the retailer’s own site. Our guide on spotting mobile phone scams explains what to look for.
Fit summary
Good fit for the Pixel 10a deal: you want a capable mid-range phone at a low monthly price and would use a pair of earbuds.
Good fit for the Galaxy S26 FE deal: you prefer Samsung, want the earbuds in the order and are happy to pay £69 upfront.
Good fit for the Pixel 11 Pro deal: you want a flagship camera and either the earbuds or a smartwatch.
Consider alternatives if: you would never use the gift. A plan without it, or a SIM only deal with a refurbished phone, may cost less overall.

Final decision card
If you want a free gift that genuinely lowers the cost of your phone, start with the Google Pixel 10a: £14.99 a month, £59 upfront and Pixel Buds 2a worth £129 to claim on orders made by 23:59 on 3 November 2026, about £336.56 in real terms over two years. FAQ
Which phone deal has the best free gift?
On 1 November 2026, the Google Pixel 10a on iD Mobile through Mobiles.co.uk is the strongest value. It costs £14.99 a month with £59 upfront for unlimited data, and you can claim Pixel Buds 2a worth £129 on orders made by 23:59 on 3 November 2026. That brings the real cost to about £336.56 over 24 months.
Are free gifts on phone contracts really free?
Sometimes. The Pixel Buds 2a claim offer on the Pixel 10a appears on the standard deals, so it adds nothing to the price. Other gift deals cost more than the same plan without a gift, for example £44 more over two years for the Galaxy S26 FE with Galaxy Buds3 Pro.
What is the difference between an included gift and a claim gift?
An included gift is part of your order. A claim gift is redeemed after you buy, usually by registering your purchase once the phone has arrived. Claim gifts have their own terms, so read them before you order.
Do I need a voucher code for these gift deals?
No code is needed for any of the deals in this guide. The gift is shown beside each plan on the Mobiles.co.uk deal page. Make sure the plan you choose shows the gift before you check out.
Will my monthly price go up?
Yes. iD Mobile’s prices on these deals rise by £1.80 a month from 1 April 2027 and again from 1 April 2028. The retailer’s total cost figures already include these rises.
Can I keep my number if I switch for a gift deal?
Yes. Text PAC to 65075 from your current phone to get a porting code, then give it to your new network. Your number usually moves within one working day.
Are there Black Friday phone deals with free gifts?
Some of the gift deals in this guide are already part of iD Mobile’s Black Friday range, which gives 500GB of data on plans that were 100GB. Our Black Friday phone deals page tracks new offers as they arrive.
