Next update: when Mobiles.co.uk changes the price or the cashback on this plan, or at the start of November 2026.
By: Switch Editorial Team, Switch Squid Ltd
As of 23 October 2026, Mobiles.co.uk sells a 12-month Vodafone SIM with 120GB of 5G data and unlimited UK calls and texts for £14 a month, rising to £16.50 from 1 April 2027, with £120 cashback by redemption. You pay £183 over the year, and once every cashback claim is paid that falls to £63, or £5.25 a month on average. The cashback is not automatic: you have to claim it by sending in your Vodafone bills at set points, and if you miss a claim you lose that part. This guide sets out the headline price, the total and the after-cashback cost side by side, explains how the claims work, and compares the 120GB plan with the 200GB, 70GB and 50GB versions on the same page. We may earn a commission if you buy through links on this page; it doesn’t change the price you pay.

See Vodafone 120GB with cashback: £14 a month, £120 back by claim
- 120GB of 5G data, unlimited UK calls and texts, £14 a month (£16.50 from 1 April 2027) on a 12-month plan, when we checked on 23 October 2026
- £183 total over 12 months, or £63 (£5.25 a month on average) once all £120 cashback is claimed
- Main limitation: cashback is by redemption, so you must send in your bills at set points within 60 days of each bill date
Is the Vodafone 120GB cashback deal worth it? The short answer
Yes, if you are organised enough to send in a handful of bills on time. On those terms, 120GB on Vodafone’s network for an average of £5.25 a month is one of the cheapest big-data 12-month SIMs we have seen this autumn. It works out at about 4.4p per gigabyte after cashback, against roughly 11.7p per gigabyte on the headline £14 price.
No, if you know you will forget. Your bank account sees £14 leave every month, then £16.50 from April 2027. The cashback arrives later, in instalments, by cheque, and only if each claim is made inside the window. If you do not claim at all, this is simply a £14 SIM with 120GB, which is fair value but not remarkable.
The other things to know: speeds are capped at a maximum of 100Mbps on this plan, which is plenty for streaming and video calls but not the fastest 5G Vodafone sells, and the deal comes through Mobiles.co.uk, a retailer, rather than from Vodafone directly.
Headline price, total cost and cost after cashback, side by side
This is the table that matters. All four plans below are 12-month Vodafone SIM only contracts from the same Mobiles.co.uk page, each with unlimited UK minutes and texts and a maximum speed of 100Mbps. Figures are as shown by Mobiles.co.uk and checked on 23 October 2026. The total cost includes the April 2027 price rise.
Data | Headline price | From 1 April 2027 | Total over 12 months | Cashback (claim needed) | Total after cashback | Average a month after cashback | Cost per GB after cashback |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
120GB (5G) | £14 a month | £16.50 | £183 | £120 | £63 | £5.25 | 4.4p |
200GB (5G) | £16 a month | £18.50 | £207 | £132 | £75 | £6.25 | 3.1p |
70GB (5G) | £12 a month | £14.50 | £159 | £96 | £63 | £5.25 | 7.5p |
50GB | £8 a month | £9.50 | £105 | £36 | £69 | £5.75 | 11.5p |
Read across the 120GB row and you can see the whole deal: you commit to £183, you claim back £120, and you end up paying £63 for a year. The 70GB plan ends at the same £63, so the 120GB version gives you 50GB a month more for no extra net cost, as long as you can manage the £2 a month higher bill before the cashback lands.
Mobiles.co.uk also lists versions of some plans with smaller automatic cashback that needs no claims, for example 70GB at £12 a month with £55 automatic cashback (£104 after cashback, about £8.67 a month) and 50GB at £8 with £15 automatic cashback (£90 after cashback). They cost more in the end, but suit anyone who does not want the paperwork.

How does cashback by redemption work?
Cashback by redemption means Mobiles.co.uk pays your cashback back in equal instalments at set points during the contract, not in one lump sum. According to its cashback page, the cashback is offered by Currys Retail Limited and paid by cheque. Here is how it works in practice:
Find out which bills to send. Log in to My Account on Mobiles.co.uk and open the My Cashback section. It lists the months whose Vodafone bills you need to submit.
Submit each bill when it is due. Upload the bill online in My Account (JPG, BMP, PNG or PDF), or post it by recorded delivery to the address on the cashback page. One claim per upload or envelope.
Do it within 60 days of the bill date. A claim received more than 60 days after the date on the bill is rejected.
Make sure the bill shows the right details. Your name, address, mobile number, tariff, bill date and current balance must be visible.
Wait for the cheque. Mobiles.co.uk says claims can take up to 14 days to process and cheques can take 28 working days to arrive. You can track each claim in My Claim Status.
A simple way to stay on top of it is to set a calendar reminder for the week after each due bill arrives. Five minutes per claim is all it takes, but it is your job to chase, not the retailer’s.
When would you lose the cashback?
Mobiles.co.uk’s terms list several situations where cashback is not paid. These are the ones most likely to catch people out:
You leave before the end of the 12-month minimum term.
You send a bill more than 60 days after its bill date, or send the wrong month’s bill.
The bill is for a different account or name from the one that qualified.
Your number or address changes and you do not update My Account first, so the details on the bill do not match.
Vodafone takes back the retailer’s commission, for example if you move to a cheaper tariff within 120 days or miss bill payments.
The line is disconnected.
One helpful detail: when Vodafone’s price rises in April 2027, the cashback is still worked out on the price you signed up to, so the rise does not change the amount you claim. It does change what you pay, which is why the total in the table above is £183 rather than £168.
Which plan should you pick: 50GB, 70GB, 120GB or 200GB?
Start with how much data you use now. You will find it in your phone’s settings under mobile data, or in your current network’s app. Then match it to the plan that costs least after cashback for that amount.
Under 40GB a month: the 50GB plan has the lowest bill, £8 a month, and the smallest cashback, £36, so it is the least risky if you are worried about missing claims. After cashback it costs £69 for the year.
40GB to 100GB: pick 120GB rather than 70GB. Both end at £63 after cashback, so the larger allowance costs nothing extra over the year. The only reason to choose 70GB is if the £2 a month lower bill matters to your budget.
Over 100GB, or you use your phone as a hotspot: 200GB costs £12 more than 120GB over the year after cashback, £75 against £63. That is good value for 80GB a month more if you tether a laptop on the train or work from a campervan.

Vodafone 120GB vs giffgaff and EE: how does it compare?
To put the cashback figure in context, here are two big-data alternatives we checked on 23 October 2026. Neither needs any claims, but both cost more over a year.
Plan | Network | Price | Contract | 12-month cost | Claims needed? |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Vodafone 120GB via Mobiles.co.uk | Vodafone | £14, then £16.50 from April 2027 | 12 months | £183, or £63 after £120 cashback | Yes |
giffgaff 25GB plan with 55GB extra free (80GB in total) | O2 | £10 a month | 18-month plan; activate by 30 October 2026 | £120 (£180 over the full 18 months) | No |
EE 100GB (flash sale to 5 November 2026) | EE | £17, then £19.50 from 31 March 2027 | 24 months | About £220 in the first year | No |
Sources: giffgaff plans as listed by Uswitch and EE SIM only deals, checked on 23 October 2026. giffgaff’s offer is its 25GB £10 plan on an 18-month term with 55GB extra free, which you must activate by 30 October 2026; EE’s £17 price is a flash sale that EE says runs to 5 November 2026, rising to £19.50 on 31 March 2027.
If you will make every claim, the Vodafone deal is the cheapest of the three by a distance. If you would rather not deal with cheques, giffgaff’s 18-month £10 plan (25GB plus 55GB extra free, activate by 30 October 2026) is the simplest low-cost alternative, though it ties you in for 18 months. Choose 120GB over 70GB: the same £63 after cashback
- 120GB and 70GB both cost £63 for the year after cashback
- The 120GB bill is £2 a month higher before the cashback arrives
- Need more? 200GB is £75 after £132 cashback
Is Vodafone’s network good enough?
Vodafone is one of the UK’s main networks, with 4G across most of the country and 5G in many towns and cities. Coverage still varies street by street, so check the Vodafone coverage map for your home and work postcodes before ordering. If you already have a phone on Vodafone or a Vodafone-based network and the signal is fine, that is the best test of all. Our UK mobile network coverage comparison shows how Vodafone stacks up against EE, O2 and Three.
On customer satisfaction, Vodafone scored 72% in the Which? mobile network survey of January 2026, as reported by ISPreview. That is mid-table, below most of the smaller networks. Remember that with this deal you deal with Mobiles.co.uk for the cashback and with Vodafone for the service itself.

Who it suits
Good for: people who use 40GB to 120GB a month, are happy on Vodafone’s network, and will set reminders to send in a few bills; anyone who wants a 12-month contract rather than 18 or 24 months.
Consider alternatives if: you know you will not make the claims, in which case giffgaff or an automatic-cashback plan is simpler; Vodafone’s signal is weak where you live; or you need speeds above 100Mbps.

FAQ
How much does the Vodafone 120GB SIM really cost?
You pay £14 a month until April 2027 and £16.50 after that, which Mobiles.co.uk totals at £183 for the 12 months. Once you have claimed all £120 of cashback, the net cost is £63, an average of £5.25 a month.
Is the £120 cashback automatic?
No. It is cashback by redemption, so you have to submit your Vodafone bills at set points through My Account or by recorded post. Each claim must be made within 60 days of the bill date, and the money arrives as a cheque.
When will I get the cashback?
It is paid in equal instalments at set points during the contract, not all at once. Mobiles.co.uk says each claim can take up to 14 days to process and the cheque can take 28 working days to arrive.
What happens if I miss a cashback claim?
You lose that instalment if the bill reaches Mobiles.co.uk more than 60 days after its bill date. Your contract carries on as normal at £14 or £16.50 a month, and you can still claim later instalments when they fall due.
Is 120GB better value than 70GB on this deal?
Yes, if you can manage the higher monthly bill. Both plans end at £63 after cashback, so 120GB gives you 50GB more each month for the same net cost. The 70GB plan is £2 a month cheaper before cashback.
Does the April 2027 price rise affect the cashback?
No. Mobiles.co.uk works out cashback on the price you signed up to, so the amount you claim stays the same. You still pay the higher £16.50 monthly price from April 2027.
Can I keep my number on this Vodafone SIM?
Yes. Text PAC to 65075 for a free code and give it when you order or when the SIM arrives. Your number normally moves within one working day.
Our verdict
If you will set a few reminders and send in your bills, Vodafone 120GB through Mobiles.co.uk is the strongest £-per-gigabyte 12-month SIM we found this week: £14 a month on the bill, £63 for the year after £120 cashback. If paperwork is not for you, pick a plan with no claims instead.
