What do Fibrus broadband deals cost? As of 28 October 2026, comparison listings put Fibrus Full Fibre 150 at £19.99 to £24.99 a month on an 18-month contract, with 500Mb and 1Gb packages at £24.99 to £29.99, no setup fee and no price rises during the contract. The catch is coverage: Fibrus only builds in parts of Northern Ireland and Cumbria, so most UK homes cannot get it. Fibrus also offers up to £400 towards early exit fees, and TalkTalk customers who sign up by 13 December 2026 can get lower promotional prices. This SwitchSquid guide sets out every Fibrus package, what the first year really costs, how to claim the exit-fee help, and what to choose if Fibrus does not reach your address. If you sign up through the buttons on this page, we may earn a commission; it does not change your price.

Fibrus not at your address? BT Full Fibre 150 from £23.99 a month through our link

  • £23.99 a month on a 24-month contract, then £27.99 from March 2027 and £31.99 from March 2028, when we checked on 28 October 2026
  • No code needed: £0 activation and up to £300 towards your leaving fees as bill credit
  • Main limitation: the price rises each March, unlike Fibrus, and the deal is for new BT customers where BT Full Fibre is available

Who is Fibrus, and can you get it?

Fibrus is an independent full fibre network, often called an altnet, that builds its own fibre-to-the-premises cables rather than renting lines from Openreach. It focuses on rural and hard-to-reach areas and holds government Project Gigabit contracts in Northern Ireland and Cumbria.

  • Northern Ireland: uSwitch says Fibrus covers around 40% of all premises in Northern Ireland, including areas around Antrim, Ballymena, Magherafelt, Omagh, Enniskillen and Larne.

  • Cumbria: Fibrus is rolling out across selected towns and rural areas, including parts of Carlisle, Workington, Whitehaven and Kendal.

  • Size: ISPreview, quoted by The Altnets on 9 October 2026, reports the network passes around 471,800 premises.

Because Fibrus is regional, the only reliable test is a postcode check on its website. If you are outside these areas, skip to the alternatives below; national full fibre from BT and cable or full fibre from Virgin Media cover far more homes.

Fibrus broadband prices: October 2026

Fibrus prices vary by address, and different comparison sites show different prices for the same package. Fibrus’s own homepage says “from £23.99” a month. The table brings together these listings, checked on 28 October 2026, alongside the two national alternatives we link to on this page.

Virgin Media network areas

Fibrus speeds are the averages uSwitch lists. BT prices are BT’s offer through our link and Virgin Media details from its gigabit page, both checked on 28 October 2026. Virgin Media did not show monthly prices without an address.

The spread matters. At £19.99 a month, Full Fibre 150 costs £239.88 in the first year and £359.82 over the 18 months. At £24.99, it is £299.88 a year and £449.82 over the contract. Full Fibre 1000 at £29.99 is £359.88 a year and £539.82 over 18 months. Always check the price Fibrus quotes for your own postcode, and compare it with the lowest listing you can find.

What happens when the Fibrus contract ends?

Fibrus fixes your monthly price for the minimum term, which is a real advantage over providers that add a rise every spring. When the contract finishes, the price moves to Fibrus’s out-of-contract rate. For context, the Fibrus offer terms reported by The Altnets list standard, non-promotional prices of up to £34.99, £39.99 and £44.99 a month for the 150Mb, 500Mb and 1Gb packages. Set a reminder for month 17 and either renegotiate or switch.

uSwitch also notes that Fibrus offers 12-month and 24-month contracts if you sign up directly, with 12-month deals typically costing about £5 a month more. That can suit renters who may move before 18 months are up.

The £400 exit-fee help, and the TalkTalk offer

If you are still in contract with another provider, Fibrus says it can cover up to £400 to help you switch. uSwitch lists the same “early switch credit up to £400” on every Fibrus package.

There is also a specific offer for TalkTalk customers, following BT’s purchase of TalkTalk. According to Fibrus’s terms, as reported by The Altnets:

  • It is open to TalkTalk residential customers who are new to Fibrus and sign up between 5 October and 13 December 2026.

  • Promotional prices are no more than £14.99, £19.99 and £24.99 a month for the 150Mb, 500Mb and 1Gb packages, on a contract of at least 18 months.

  • Fibrus pays up to £400 towards your TalkTalk broadband early termination fee. Anything above that, plus add-ons, mobile charges or unpaid bills, is yours to pay.

  • You send Fibrus your final TalkTalk bill showing the fee, within 40 days of your Fibrus service starting.

  • Some Northern Ireland postcode districts are excluded: BT1 to BT15, BT35, BT60, BT61 and BT68 to BT70.

Before you rely on the £400, check what your current provider would charge to leave. Our guide to broadband leaving fees explains how they are usually worked out.

Fibrus extras: router, phone line and installation

  • Router: Fibrus’s TalkTalk offer terms list one Amazon eero 6+ router on Full Fibre 150, two eero 6+ routers on Full Fibre 500 and two eero 7 routers on Full Fibre 1000.

  • Home phone: Fibrus Talk, a digital home phone service with unlimited UK and Ireland calls, costs £9.99 a month.

  • Installation: if your home is already connected, setup can be done remotely; otherwise Fibrus arranges a free standard engineer visit. Our full fibre installation guide explains what happens on the day.

  • Switching: moves go through One Touch Switch, so Fibrus tells your old provider and you do not need to call them. See how One Touch Switch works.

If Fibrus is not at your address: the alternatives

Most UK homes, and many in Northern Ireland and Cumbria, are outside the Fibrus network. The two national options we compare are:

  • BT Full Fibre: through our link, BT shows Full Fibre 150 at £23.99 a month on 24 months, rising to £27.99 in March 2027 and £31.99 in March 2028, with £0 activation and up to £300 towards leaving fees as bill credit. Unlike Fibrus, BT’s price goes up during the contract, so compare the full 24-month cost. Our BT broadband alternatives page has more.

  • Virgin Media gigabit: Gig1 averages 1,130Mbps downloads and includes Virgin’s WiFi guarantee: at least 30Mbps in every room or £100 credit. Setup is free if you self-install. Coverage is limited to Virgin Media network areas, so check your address.

If money is tight, our social tariff broadband guide explains who qualifies for cheaper packages such as Fibrus Full Fibre Essentials. For other regional networks, see our rural full fibre availability guide and full fibre broadband deals.

On Virgin Media’s network? Gig1 gigabit with a WiFi guarantee

  • Gig1 averages 1,130Mbps downloads, faster than Fibrus Full Fibre 1000’s 982Mbps average
  • WiFi guarantee included on Gig1: at least 30Mbps in every room or £100 credit
  • No code needed; £0 setup if you self-install, prices shown for your address

How to switch to Fibrus (or anyone else)

  1. Check availability with your postcode on the provider’s site.

  2. Find your current end date and exit fee in your online account or latest bill.

  3. Compare the full-contract cost, not just the first monthly price.

  4. Order the new service. One Touch Switch handles the move.

  5. Claim any exit-fee credit with your final bill, inside the deadline.

Fit summary

  • Good fit for Fibrus: you live in a Fibrus area of Northern Ireland or Cumbria and want a fixed price for 18 months.

  • Good fit for the TalkTalk offer: you are a TalkTalk customer outside the excluded postcode districts and Fibrus reaches your home.

  • Consider BT instead: Fibrus cannot connect you, and you want a national provider with a known price path.

  • Consider Virgin Media instead: your home is on Virgin’s network and you want gigabit speeds with a WiFi guarantee.

FAQ

How much is Fibrus broadband a month?

On 28 October 2026, listings put Fibrus Full Fibre 150 at £19.99 to £24.99 a month, Full Fibre 500 at £24.99 to £29.99 and Full Fibre 1000 at £29.99, all on 18-month contracts with no setup fee. Fibrus’s own site says prices start from £23.99, and your quote depends on your address.

Where is Fibrus broadband available?

Fibrus builds in parts of Northern Ireland and Cumbria. uSwitch says it covers around 40% of premises in Northern Ireland, and it is rolling out in towns such as Carlisle, Workington, Whitehaven and Kendal.

Does Fibrus put prices up during the contract?

No. Fibrus fixes your monthly price for the minimum contract term. When the term finishes, the price moves to its out-of-contract rate, so plan to review your deal before then.

Will Fibrus pay my exit fees?

Fibrus says it can cover up to £400 towards early termination fees when you switch. For the TalkTalk offer, you send your final TalkTalk bill within 40 days of your Fibrus service starting, and anything above £400 is yours to pay.

Does Fibrus have a social tariff?

Yes. Fibrus Full Fibre Essentials is listed by thinkbroadband at £14.99 a month for 50Mbps. Social tariffs are for households on eligible benefits, so check Fibrus’s eligibility rules before you apply.

What router does Fibrus give you?

Fibrus supplies an Amazon eero router as standard. Its TalkTalk offer terms list one eero 6+ on Full Fibre 150, two eero 6+ on Full Fibre 500 and two eero 7 on Full Fibre 1000.

Is Fibrus better than BT?

Where both are available, Fibrus can be cheaper over the contract because its price does not rise mid-term, while BT’s Full Fibre 150 through our link goes from £23.99 to £27.99 in March 2027 and £31.99 in March 2028. BT reaches far more homes, so it is the fallback if Fibrus cannot connect you.

Final decision card

If Fibrus reaches your home in Northern Ireland or Cumbria, it is a strong full fibre choice: listings show Full Fibre 150 from £19.99 a month, no setup fee, no price rises for 18 months and up to £400 towards your exit fees. TalkTalk customers can get lower prices until 13 December 2026, outside the excluded postcodes. If Fibrus is not available, check BT Full Fibre or Virgin Media at your address and compare the full-contract cost.

Want Virgin Media without paying for gigabit? M125 fibre broadband

  • M125 averages 132Mbps downloads and 20Mbps uploads, on Virgin Media’s page when we checked on 28 October 2026
  • No code needed; £0 setup when you self-install, or £30 if you choose an engineer instead
  • Main limitation: Virgin Media network areas only, and prices show once you enter your postcode
